Biography

Julie Burnam lives in Penrose, Colorado where she and her husband

built a solar home that includes woodworking and metalworking studios.
Her interest in metalwork began while earning a degree in fine arts from
CSU in 1979. There she discovered blacksmithing while studying woodworking and metalsmithing.
After owning and operating a gallery and frame shop for 15 years
Julie started to devote more time to metal work and develope her popular
kinetic garden sculptures called windcatchers. Using nails and scrap metal
she has also created and assortment of bugs and flowers to adorn a garden.
For many years Julie has been a member of the regional Artist
Blacksmith Assosiation and still enjoys attending blacksmith workshops,
